“Don’t leave Om without it.”
Denver
yoga entrepreneur Andrea Hellman (Drea) has come up with a clever idea to arm yoga
enthusiasts with the ammunition they need to travel, practice yoga and relax while being
able to find a studio that offers savings of up to 30 percent.
The so-called Om Pass
program is the largest referral program in the world designed to connect yoga students and
yoga studios.
Om is said to be the basic sound of the world, like a prayer or
mantra in itself, and used during yoga practice to resonate throughout the entire body,
to the center of a person’s soul.
Here’s how the program works:
Students
sign up for one year for $10, which includes shipping and handling of the Om Pass. Simply find
one of 80 participating yoga studios across the United States or around the world and present
to them your discount card. Students will find that they can save between 15 to 30 percent off
each class visit.
“As a yoga instructor, I noticed that the studio I was teaching
at didn’t offer out-of-towners their first class free,” states Drea on the program’s Web site.
“I also traveled frequently and was amazed at how drop-in rates started to add up and how time
consuming searching for quality studios online could be.”
So Drea started Om Pass to
encourage students to practice yoga when they traveled.
But the benefits don’t
just apply to students. Studios can increase their clientele and diversity by enrolling in the
program. For $35 a year, studios can join and receive a detailed online studio listing on the Om
Pass Web site with photo and contact information, URL link to their site, Mapquest link with directions
and three Om Passes to distribute as they see fit.
Enrollment can result in the studio
generating extra revenue and increasing their class size and diversity.
As a special
promotion between the Denver Daily News and Om Pass, new students can register for a free pass
by visiting www.Om-Pass.com heading to the student registration
page and in the coupon field at the bottom of the page entering, DDNYOGA.
Also, at this
year’s Midwest Yoga Conference in June at the Indian Resort Spa in Chicago, Om Pass will be giving
away 1500 free passes.
“Om Pass very quickly became my passion,” continued Drea. “Today,
Om Pass has become a symbol for me. It represents true potential in all things, all beings. It
illustrates that dreams can come true and do inspire others.”
